This policy represents a portion of the Service Agreement.


This privacy policy describes how we use your personal information. As used in this policy, the term “personal information” means information that can be directly associated with an individual.


Email Addresses

We collect your email address, and require your email address when you create an account or donate (so that we can email you a receipt).

We usually send you an email asking you to verify your email address, which helps us protect your information and account.

Your email address, along with any information we collect about your email address (such as its verification status), may be shared with each campaign you join or sign up to receive updates from. Specific information about your email address, such as an email sent via the Services bouncing or being rejected by your email service provider, may be shared with the sending campaign. if any.

We may add your email address to our email list where we send email updates and requests for donations, however you can unsubscribe from this list at any time.


Phone Numbers

We collect your phone number and may verify its carrier, phone type (for example, mobile), and country code.

We usually send you a text or voice message asking you to verify your phone number, which helps us protect your information and account.

Your phone number, and any information we collect about your phone number (such as its verification status or country code), may be shared with each campaign you join or sign up to receive updates from.

(Due to the political nature of our mission, we generally only accept phone numbers with a United States country code.)


Names and Addresses

We collect your name and address and may use this information to prevent fraud and/or unlawful activity, such as by verifying your voter registration status.

Your name and address, along with any information we collect about you (such as your voter registration status), may be shared with each campaign you join or sign up to receive updates from.


Contributions

We collect your name, address, occupation, employer, and, in some cases, employer's address, depending on the type of contribution you’re making, when you contribute to a candidate or committee using the Services, and share this information with the campaign you are contributing to.

Campaign finance law requires that this information, along with details of your contribution, be reported to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) or relevant state agency. FEC reports containing this information are publicly available from the FEC website. State reports are typically available through the state agency designated to oversee campaigns and elections.

Financial Information

Financial information is securely transmitted via Stripe, our payment processor. We may store a tokenized representation of your financial information or some general data (such as a card's brand and last four digits), but do not store or have access to complete or detailed financial information (such as whole card or account numbers).

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from a campaign's list at any time, however this does not necessarily mean that all of your personal information will be deleted.

For example: some personal information, such as information found in voter checklists, is publicly available; some personal information may be retained in past state or federal regulatory reports; and, some personal information may have been exported from the Services by a campaign prior to you unsubscribing.

We do our best to prevent campaigns from using the Services to send you updates once you have unsubscribed from their list.


Cookies

Some parts of the Services use cookies.

A “cookie” is a tiny text file that is stored on your computer and enables you to return to password-protected areas on our website without having to re-enter your password. We also use (or facilitate the use of) cookies for tracking systems, including third party systems such as Google Analytics.

You can disable these cookies by modifying your web browser preferences, however it may impact the functionality of the Services.


IP Addresses

We log IP (Internet protocol) addresses, which are the locations of computers or networks on the Internet, and analyze them for systems administration, troubleshooting, and security purposes.

Some third party services we use, such as Google Analytics, may also log IP addresses as part of the services they offer.


Children

We do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifying information from children under the age of 13.
